Mission Health’s athletic trainers serve on the front lines of our sports medicine team, providing assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention for sports injuries and sports-related illness. They work alongside coaching staffs and provide on-site treatment to ensure that that athletes immediately receive the best possible care, while avoiding future injury.

Mission Sports Medicine is proud to support the men and women student athletes of UNC Asheville, providing athletic training and sports medicine services to keep the Bulldogs in the game.
Our multidisciplinary team of specialists provide care based entirely around the needs of athletes. As the region’s most comprehensive sports medicine program, our team of experts includes nonoperative sports medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, pediatricians, cardiologists and neurologists who work together to provide seamless care for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of injuries and sports-related illnesses impacting our athletes.
Together, Mission Sports Medicine and UNC Asheville work together to enhance the quality of care, patient outcomes and student-athlete experience, providing cutting-edge care in injury evaluation, management and rehabilitation to safely return athletes to their sport as soon as possible. We maximize performance to help athletes improve function and reduce the risk of future injury, focusing on enhancing strength, conditioning and overall wellness.
