Are you a registered nurse with less than one year of experience? Or will you graduate from a nursing program this spring? Mission Health invites you to learn more about our New Graduate RN Residency Program at an Open House on Thursday, Feb. 2.
The event will be hosted in the 5th floor classrooms at 1 Hospital Drive in Asheville; new nurses can drop in between 4 and 7 pm to learn more. The program is open to any new nurses in the community, as well as current Mission Health team members. You’ll learn about opportunities in 10 practice areas across Mission Health, talk with nursing managers and directors, and tour some of our nursing units. You’ll even be able to begin the application process for the program.
The New Graduate RN Residency Program offers year-long, full-time paid nursing positions. These give new nurses the opportunity to grow in their nursing practice and gain clinical experience across a variety of settings in a supportive environment that includes mentoring, professional development and peer support. Areas of specialty may include Behavioral Health, Emergency Services, ICU/Critical Care, Maternal/Newborn/NICU, Surgical Services, Pediatrics and/or Staffing Pool.
The program is offered at locations throughout Mission Health, including Mission Hospital and CarePartners in Asheville; Angel Medical Center in Franklin; Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine; Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in Highlands; McDowell Hospital in Marion; and Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard.
Qualified applicants must have less than one year of experience as a registered nurse. In addition, applicants must have graduated from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accredited Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and must have a North Carolina RN license by the date of employment. Five references, including at least two from clinical instructors or supervisors, are required. Successful applicants must make a one-year commitment to the program.
