Spread cheer this holiday season – not germs!
We hope you have a happy and healthy holiday – but if you find yourself in need of medical care this Christmas, New Year or any day in between, don’t think twice! With Mission Health, you can get care online or in-person – even during the holidays.
Here’s what to know about your options if you do need medical care for you or your family during the holiday:
1. Get care online.
With Mission Virtual Clinic, you can skip the trip and just click – convenient, fast and helpful – all for $25, regardless of health insurance or even if you do not have health insurance. The online clinic provides care for minor illnesses like cold, flu, allergies, urinary tract infections (UTIs), minor eye and skin conditions without needing to be seen in an office.
Receive a response within one hour from 7 am to 11 pm, and from 7 to 8 am the next morning for after-hours visits when you get care online. Strep throat or some flu conditions may require an in-person visit for a rapid test to confirm diagnosis, but you can always start your care visit online.
2. Get walk-in care.
Sometimes the hardest part of getting medical care is knowing where to go – do you go to the ER, an urgent care facility or your primary care doctor? Combining the best features of each, Mission My Care Now makes it easy to get fast, affordable, non-emergency medical care – even during the holidays!
Mission My Care Now locations will be…
- Open until 5 pm on Christmas Eve
- Closed on Christmas Day
- Open regular business hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
Mission My Care Now locations offer diagnostics on-site, such as lab and x-ray, so patients can be evaluated quickly. And the use of a shared electronic health record makes it easy for our providers to get a patient’s most up-to-date health information and medical history to help ensure the best care. Not sure if walk-in care is available near you?
3. The emergency room is always there for you.
At every Mission Health hospital, the emergency room is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our skilled and dedicated emergency medicine teams work around the clock to ensure you get the expert care you need in the event of a serious injury, illness or health crisis.
Here’s hoping you and your family never need them but if you do, they are always there for you. If you are ever in doubt about whether you’re in need of emergency care, play it safe by calling 911 or getting to the emergency department as quickly as you can if you have the safe means to do so.
Happy holidays, neighbors! Be well.
