Raising a Glass for Breast Cancer Awareness – Pink Pint Night Funds Important Screenings

One of the most impactful messages to share during Breast Cancer Awareness Month is the importance of proper screening. We are honored to partner with local nonprofit organization Ladies’ Night Out, which provides underinsured and uninsured women in Buncombe County with access to mammograms, blood pressure screenings, cholesterol screenings and pap tests.

We all have an opportunity to help raise money for Ladies’ Night Out, and have some fun in the process, with the annual Pink Pint Night at Highland Brewing Co.

Since 2013, Pink Pint Night has raised $20,000 for Ladies’ Night Out.

Since the inception of Ladies’ Night Out in 2006, more than 5,000 women have been screened for breast cancer and 47 women have been diagnosed and treated for breast cancer.

If a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer through the Ladies’ Night Out program, she immediately qualifies for a special federal Medicaid card that pays for the entire cost of treatment up to and including breast reconstruction.

Through Ladies’ Night Out events, 300-400 women are screened each year. All of the women who participate receive a general health exam and health education, as well as a breast exam and mammogram. Diagnostic services and follow-up are also coordinated through the program.

So, join us at Highland Brewing Co. for this year’s Pink Pint Night, and raise a glass for breast cancer awareness.
