Pink Pint Night – Where the Money Goes, and Who It Helps

Logo-Pink-Pint-NightBy Lyndsay Mountz

Since 2013, Pink Pint Night has raised $10,000 for Ladies’ Night Out – our local nonprofit organization that provides underinsured and uninsured women in Buncombe County with access to health care including mammograms, blood pressure screenings, cholesterol screenings and pap tests.

Since Ladies Night Out’s inception in 2006, over 4,594 women have been screened for breast cancer and 43 women have been diagnosed and treated for breast cancer. If a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer through the Ladies Night Out program, she immediately qualifies for a special federal Medicaid card that pays for the entire cost of treatment up to and including breast reconstruction.

Through Ladies Night Out events, 300-400 women are screened each year. All of the women who participate receive a general health exam and health education, as well as a breast exam and mammogram. Diagnostic services and follow-up are also coordinated through the program.

So, join us at Highland Brewing Co. on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. and raise a glass for breast cancer awareness!

The Mission Breast Program is hosting Pink Pint Night – an evening of fun, food and awareness and education.
