With less than a week left until October 5, there is still no sign that Blue Cross NC is willing to compromise despite Mission Health and our region’s collective asks. Unfortunately, it’s becoming clear the insurance company intends to push Mission Health and your beloved providers out of network as soon as October 5, 2017.
Mission stands with you no matter what.
Here’s what you can do:
Use this checklist to prepare for your care before and after October 5.
While this situation is complicated, your insurance company shouldn’t keep you from seeking and receiving the care you need. Our patients shouldn’t be forced to navigate changes in Blue Cross NC’s provider network on their own. That’s why we’re providing you with the information you need to ensure you are prepared to make the best decisions for you and your family.
This Healthcare Plan Checklist gives you the information you need to continue getting care when and where you need it, even if Blue Cross NC is out of network. Using this checklist will help walk you through the right steps and information to ensure you know and understand your options for keeping your care and your doctor with Mission Health.
We encourage you to print the checklist and use it as a guide to planning your next steps for care. It includes important to-do items to cross off your list, questions to ask your insurance company or employer, contact numbers and websites, and even a section to take notes.
Please remember, your Blue Cross NC coverage remains the same through at least until October 5, 2017. Mission Health doctors and facilities remain in network with Blue Cross Federal until November 16.
