Stressed out? Instead of sitting all day at your desk, get in a little stress-busting workout with these six exercises.
6 Desk Exercises, Office Relaxation and Stress Relievers
- Paper Pushups – Good for: Strengthening arms
How to do it: With both hands on your desk, walk your feet back to a 45 degree angle. Do a dozen pushups.
- Book Press – Good for: Triceps
How to do it: Grab the heaviest book you can find, hold it behind your head, and then extend your arms up and down. Drop back down and repeat.
- Chair Squats – Good for: Toning legs and quads
How to do it: Standing 6” in front of your chair, lower yourself down until your bottom hits the edge then pop back up. Repeat 10 times.
- Standing Calf Raises – Good for: strengthening calf muscles
How to do it: Starting with fee together, rise up to raise your calves. Hold for 10 seconds, release and repeat.
- Laugh – Good for: It’s true; laughter really is the best medicine!
How to do it: Talk to a co-worker with a hearty sense of humor or share of funny story. This is a good reminder not to take life so seriously which can do wonders for your stress level.
